Miss Beldon. My first legit short film.

This was my first legit short film, Miss Beldon, for the 48 hour film festival. Loved every minute, particularly the stunts. Though I am my biggest critic.

I wanted to show how kickass my character Special Agent Buchanan was, and my inexperience caused nervousness. It's all mental. Anytime you are in front of the camera, and in life, trust yourself that you've done the work and are prepared. Trust your mind and your skill.. Otherwise you will not enjoy your work, and you may feel inadequate. Let's not have that shit cloud focus.

I got to work with this amazing cast and crew. Yelena, great clear kind direction. Evan screenplay and my partner in justice. Tyler, hilarious talent with donut. Kabrina, kind and talented. Bryan, soooooo fun to work with you on stunts and watch you perform your work! Erynn, brother of Evan... Bethany, editing is so cool! ;) The Badger-Breathing Dragons unite!

Build Your Repertoire

Hey there. Been a while. So much goin on in life.

I'm taking gymnastics, contemporary dance, ballet, and hip hop. I'm also taking a guitar class. And i've been doing artwork and spending time with my sister and friends. So much stuff goin on. Here's a peak:

FYI, there has been a lull as of late in my activity. I've missed classes and such. It's because i've taken them for granted and gotten lazy.At the beginning of the year, everything was new and exciting. It has become routine and i've slowed my passion. I've let an opportunity pass me by.. to be an extra in a student film with my friend Gunnar as one of the leads. Do not let yourself think you are doing ENOUGH to get your dreams. Do more, while staying sane of course ;)

YOU MUST CHANGE FROM WITHIN

You need to reinvigorate your love for your passion all the time. Do things that inspire your passion. For me, it's watching Glee hehe.

So yeah... no class or coach or opportunity can do anything for you unless you apply yourself and take responsibility to make yourself a better dancer, musician, actor.  FOCUS. And LOVE WHAT YOU DO so much that you do it always everywhere.

Like Minds - Gunnar

When you meet wise hard-working people that have similar goals as you, you need to see what a rare thing it is. These are the thinkers. These are the doers. Just like you. As a team, you can collaborate on a project and create something worthwhile that springs both of you forward in life.

Journal ¶
A lot of exciting things have been happening. I met Michael St. Clair, a very talented music producer. I've begun to record my songs. I'm also writing more. It's been exciting, for someone who never thought of herself as a singer/songwriter ever. I've always loved music and art tho, the way it moves you. I also had the pleasure of meeting Gunnar Thorderson. He is going places. Together, he, Michael, and my friend Aaron, started some awesome stuff. A lot is in store with this talented group. Photo shoots, scene work, acting projects, extra work, duets, and a strong youtube miniseries. Something is coming. Something big. And i'm glad you get to witness the process.

Gunnar told me a lot about the biz. He was so willing to dispense his knowledge about the industry.

  • Headshots
    • neutral colors, gaussian blur, eyes in focus; 3 different tshirts
    • 1. neutral face - no emotion
    • 2. serious looking
    • 3. sexy fierce
    • 4. girl next door, innocent
    • 5. the lawyer, business
  • Hit up agencies until you get one
    • "I'm a new talent seeking representation"
    • do not, hellllll no, do not pay for representation
    • representation should get paid when you do - a percentage
    • you can switch agents later as you get bigger & more in depth
  • Demo reel - easy, recorded scenes, nice camera, good lighting, grab a friend
  • Student films
  • Learn industry, know the business
  • Proscouts class $70/day of acting
  • Boutique agency - famous agent that takes you under their wing
    • usually they have a class you can take so you can learn and show them your skill
  • Get typecast - where you get cast as a certain type of character
  • You can model before you act - build your name
    • I assume this means being a musician before, too
  • Utah actora and extras
  • Get on set
    • find out when/where choreographer, PA, etc is on set
    • talk to them, ask questions, soak up as much knowledge as possible
    • they see your drive, they like you, they connect you

Embrace Vulnerability. It is a strength.

Contrary to popular belief, vulnerability is a strength.

The secret is: when it comes to yourself and feelings, there is nothing to be ashamed of, ever. Every feeling you have is valid. Every experience you have is valuable to your identity. If others are going to put you down for it, they're only doing disservice to themselves. It's only when you value others' confidence over your own that you fall. And artists got no time for this cuz artists know their vulnerability is what empowers their creation, their craft! Now get to work.

Be professional and take yourself seriously. You have a great work ahead of you.

Vulnerability is so particularly powerful in acting because it is what everyone else is afraid to show and yet it is something we all experience and wish we could show to others without fear. Let's show it, regardless! Be unembarrassed to portray emotions that exist in life; those are the only ones that matter.

Be confident and professional in the art of expression!

So here you have it.. about to get real.
VIDEO CONTEXT: moving away from my best friend, simultaneously going through extreme heartbreak; it is going to be hard; deciding to be my biggest support, to uplift my life. tone: peace, somber joyful tears. Every experience characterizes you. Use it.

btw, we are our own worst critic so no one needs to be told their flaws. i am aware of all'a mine. embrace it. this is what it means to be vulnerable, to put yourself out there, flaws and all. It adds to your character as a human being.

Love yourself more than anyone. Like yourself more than anyone. Be healthy. And you will have a great life.

Silent Lullaby

And so it goes on a Saturday night. I was going to go see Snow White and the Huntsman. I'm still going to see it. But, instead of seeing a movie, I made one.

We started about 10:40pm until final editing and uploading at 3:45am. How's that for a super saturday?

I missed going to Moab today. It's a 3 and a half hour drive to Moab.

So i'll do the second option of sending in my pic to the CA office. I hope i'm still picked for the movie. How cool would this opportunity be?! I should have just sucked it up and drove to Moab. I didn't realize how big a movie it was though, now i really wish i went.

'The Lone Ranger' has a budget of upwards 200 MILLION dollars and is set to release May 2013. Armie Hammer [Mirror, Mirror; the Social Network] plays the Lone Ranger and Johnny Depp plays his right hand mand, Tonto.

BYU Chick on Veronica Mars

Was watching Veronica Mars the other day. Love that show. Kristen Bell is awesome -- strong character, love her sarcastic readings.

In an episode there's a guest star,
Erin Chambers (click here for her IMDb). I just found out that apparently she graduated from BYU. I don't know if she's an active member, but isn't that cool?

I first saw her in that one disney movie "Don't Look Under the Bed." That was SUCH a good movie with imaginary friends and creepy cool stuff... wow good times. that movie was from 1999. Erin Chambers was 20 years old; her character.. 14 years old. YEAH. Watch the movie:

General Hospital. It's so weird how she's got an Irish accent in this. wweeeeeiiirrrrd. and i don't know how accurate it is. It all sounds toooooo irish if you know what i mean.

Errand of Angels. haven't seen it. i will now. she looks so good in this.

She sorta reminds me of Brittni from my acting class:
